With reference to Your Lordship's

Despatch No. 56 of the 25th. of last February, I have the

honour to state that on the 6th. of last April, I recommend

-ed the Legislative Council to vote a sum of £25 in aid

of the vote "Miscellaneous Services" as a gratuity to Mrs.

Mary Conlan, mother of the late Police Constable, Paul

Conlan. The vote was recommended by the Finance Committee

on the 14th. of last April, and approved by the Legisla-

-tive Council on the 5th. of last May.

I note from Your Lordship's

Despatch No. 225 of the 12th. ultimo that the Crown Agents

have been instructed to make payment to Mrs. Conlan.
